2018 CCTTT Season - 13 June - 1 August!

posted Jun 5, 2018, 6:45 PM by Cindy Regnante

Good Evening TriFury!

We finally have all the details in place, and we are excited to formally announce the 2013 Claire Cloutier Try the Tri Season! Our core CCTTT group has implemented some changes this year, which we are sure you will like.

First, Laura has been working with TriFury's Club Express account to better support CCTTT and SLTTT. This means you can now register in advance, and pay with a credit card, and not worry about hitting the ATM or locating the checkbook before CCTTT. Information and sign-up can be seen at:

http://trifury.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=2&club_id=568201

Second, Laura and Jamie have also implemented volunteer sign-up through Club Express. This means you can sign up for a position in advance, see what positions are available, sign up yourself and a friend for a particular spot, and other details. Jamie will be sending out more details on volunteering before the first race.

Third, we are going back to the fun tradition of participating with some of our 'sister' clubs in the area. June 20th we will host Sole Sisters, GLRR on July 11th, and MVS on July 25th. So if you know anyone in any of those clubs who might like to 'Try a Tri', please let them know and bring them on down!

Fourth, back by popular demand, is Superhero Night on July 18. Come dressed as your favorite superhero, either racing or volunteering, and join in the fun! (Please, for safety concerns no capes.)

Finally, yes, we will have a TriFury Kids' race this year. Details on the kids race will be sent out to members through Club Express, so if you haven't renewed for 2018, now would be a great time. Renewal can be done through Club Express, and when done, you will have access to all the additional information, details, and specials available to members.

The 2018 CCTTT series will be held every Wednesday evening, with the race starting at 6:30, with the first race on 13 June and the last race on 1 August. As July 4th falls on a Wednesday this year, will not be holding one on the 4th.

We're all looking forward to a great 2018 CCTTT series! We hope to see you out there!

For the 2018 CCTTT organizers,
Jay

posted Mar 13, 2018, 9:32 AM by Cindy Regnante   [ updated Mar 13, 2018, 9:36 AM ]

Hi Everyone!   It’s turning out to be a long winter after all.  But there is a light at the end of this tunnel.  The Triathlon season is on the verge. I promise.

To get us all in the mood,  and get a head start on the 2018 TriFury race series awards, we have two volunteer opportunities.

First option is to help represent TriFury at the big 2018 RACE-MANIA Summit and Expo on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Boston University’s Fit Rec Center, 915 Commonwealth Ave, Boston. We have free admission passes for all booth staff. We need people in 1.5 hour shifts from 9:30am to 4:30pm.  If you can help,  please reply to me with the 1.5 hour period of your choice when you can help. I’ll provide Details on what you need to do at our booth closer to the event. Go here for more info on the event. http://race-mania.com

The second Opportunity to volunteer and get one selected race award credit, is at the Run for the Troops 5K on Sunday April 22, 9 AM at 36 Bartlet Street, Andover, MA 01810.  With a field of more than 2000 runners, TriFury has committed to step up to this year to help this amazing event to manage a water stop and provide some course marshalls. Please reply to me if you can help. The shift would be between 8 AM and 10 AM. Go here for more details about the event http://www..runforthetroops5k.com/

Thanks,  and bring on Triathlon season!

Announcing TriFury's new Silver Lake Try The Tri

posted Jun 23, 2017, 1:55 PM by Cindy Regnante

We are extremely excited to announce the inaugural TriFury Silver Lake Try the Tri Triathlon in Wilmington, MA. This 400 yard swim, 12 mile bike, 2 mile run triathlon will be held on Saturday July 8th, 2017 at 7:30AM and is open to all TriFury members. Entry fee is $20, and $30 for first time non-member guests.

Similar to the highly successful Claire Cloutier Try the Tri held weekly on Wednesday evenings in Tyngsboro, this unique event is geared towards both novice beginners and those more experienced looking for a practice "race".  Note:  the open water swim in beautiful Silver Lake will have a beginners buoy, giving you a chance to shorten the swim if so desired.  You can also chose to make it a duathon (bike/run only) or aquabike (swim/bike only).  There is no preregistration, on site registration only.  Rain date is Sunday July 9th.

The event is limited to 25 participants.  Additional event information and details including course maps will be released once finalized.

Any questions, please email Dave Tyler at davidatyler@yahoo.com or Kristen Kelley at skydiverkk@gmail.com.

posted Oct 6, 2016, 2:44 PM by Cindy Regnante

Hi TriFury,

It is that time of year again when we are getting ready for the 2016 TriFury Awards Banquet on November 13th, at the Atkinson Country Club, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.** See below for Ticket information. The TriFury board of directors will make the final choices. Please send your nominations to me at pds27@comcast.net do not reply to all.

Race details:
50 yard swim, 1.2 mile bike, and a .6 mile run.

The swim will be to the first buoy and back, the bike course will be 2 loops around the neighborhood, and the run will be a single loop.

Bike and Run:

Children may use noodles or life jackets during the swim.  We will have adults and lifeguards in the water.   For safety reasons, bikes must be 2 wheels only (no training wheels).

The fee is $5 for children with family memberships and $10 for children of members with individual memberships.  Non-affiliated children may not participate.
